Guu sang softly to the noisy cows:

“Guu… guu… guu…”

At once, the cows grew quiet.
They lay down upon the meadow
and fell asleep.

They dreamed of a joyful feast.

When they awoke,
they stretched and yawned together.

“No matter how delicious a meal is,
in a dream you never feel full.”

They looked around.

A gentle breeze moved through the grass.
Bees flew among the flowers.

“The sound of their wings—
it feels as though the Earth itself is moving.”

“The rustling of the grass—
it almost sounds delicious.”

The cows began to eat—
heartily, eagerly.

When they were full,
they ran across the meadow.

As they ran,
they grew lean and strong.

The fat disappeared.

Just then, the farmer arrived.

“These cows are too thin—
they’ll be tough and unappetizing.”

The humans left, disappointed.

And so,
the cows were able to live long lives.
